Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden launched into a racist attack on Trump supporters last week that will leave many Americans outraged.
During a campaign stop in Columbia, South Carolina, Biden called President Donald Trump a “clown” and said Republicans are allowing “Jim Crow” racism to return to the United States.
“Folks, last year, 24 states introduced or enacted at least 70 bills to curtail the right the vote. And guess what, mostly directed at ‘people of color,’” he said. “You see it. We have Jim Crow sneaking back in. No, I mean it!”
To make his point that all Republicans are apparently racist, Biden pointed to the elections last November in Georgia and Florida, where Republican candidates defeated Democrats Stacey Abrams and Andrew Gillum.
“Why? Because they know if everybody has an equal right to vote, guess what? They lose!” he said.
After implying that Republicans are racist, Biden repeatedly reminded the audience that former President Barack Obama was his “buddy” and that he served with him as Vice President for eight years.
“By the way, he’s a hell of a guy, I worked with him for eight years, I watched him, he has enormous integrity, and nobody I’ve ever worked with was smarter, and he is a decent, decent, decent man,” Biden said. “And folks, I think he was one of the best president’s we’ve ever, ever had.”
“Above all else, we must defeat Donald Trump,” he shouted.
Biden’s 2020 campaign hasn’t gotten off to the best start.
Biden told supporters during a conference call last month that that he decided to launch his 2020 presidential campaign because “world leaders begged” him to “save the world” and run against Trump.
“I get calls from people all over the world. World leaders are calling me, and they’re almost begging me to do this, to save the country, save the world,” Biden reportedly said.
Biden’s announcement also comes after at least four women have accused him of inappropriate touching.
Caitlyn Caruso said Biden rested his hand on her thigh even as she tried to squirm in her seat to signal that she was uncomfortable.
This allegedly took place about three years ago while at an event on sexual assault at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
D.J. Hill, the second women, recalled an incident in 2012 where Biden placed his hand on her shoulder and began to run it down her back.
Before that, former Nevada state lawmaker Lucy Flores accused Biden of grabbing her shoulders, smelling her hair, and kissing her head without consent at a 2014 campaign event.
Amy Lappos, a former congressional aide to Connecticut Democratic Rep. Jim Himes, claimed that during a fundraising event in 2009, Biden grabbed her head and pulled her in close to rub noses.
And now he’s apparently only running for president so he can “save the world” and because Republicans are apparently racist.
