Democrat Sen. Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii accidentally admitted on Wednesday that the Democratic Party has a two-year plan to keep President Donald Trump from filing the vacant seat on the Supreme Court.
During an interview with Politico Magazine, Hirono revealed that if Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation is derailed, Democrats will oppose any attempt to fill the vacancy until after the 2020 presidential election.
To help build her case, she bizarrely said Republicans not holding a hearing for Merrick Garland, former President Barack Obama’s nominee, would justify holding out for the next two years.
“I think we’ve had those kinds of vacancies before, and we certainly had over a one-year vacancy with Merrick Garland,” Hirono said. “So the world does not come to an end because we don’t fill all of the nominees.”

Her claim is utterly ridiculous, and completely detached from reality. The GOP didn’t hold a hearing on Garland in 2016 because it was during a presidential election. Given Obama was leaving office, Republicans believed the incoming president should be able to nominate someone for the seat.
Democrats never cared at the time because they thought Hillary Clinton was going to win, but now that Trump’s on the verge of nominating his second judge to the High Court, liberals are pulling out all of the stops.
Hirono argues Kavanaugh’s nomination should be withdrawn and that the Senate should reject anyone Trump nominates until after the 2020 presidential election.
“Seventeen is not exactly a baby, either. These are serious allegations. She has a very credible story. I believe her. And now we have to do more than say, ‘Well, look at the timing!’ and ‘Well, it’s all politically motivated!’” Hirono said. “This has to be taken seriously.”
Hirono, as many would agree, has lost her mind. There is absolutely no logical or evidenced-based reason to support Kavanaugh stepping away or the Senate not confirming anyone for two years.
The Hawaii Democrat is referring to Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who claimed Kavanaugh could have “inadvertently killed” her during a party in the early 1980s. She alleges that Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed and groped her while she was wearing a bathing suit. Kavanaugh has vehemently denied the allegations and said he doesn’t even remember the party.
Kavanaugh strongly denies assaulting Ford nearly 40 years ago and said he doesn’t even remember the party. In fact, friends who said they attended the referenced party have defended Kavanaugh, saying they never saw him do anything that Ford has alleged he did.
On top of that, Kavanaugh has agreed to testify on Monday about the allegations. Ford has stated that she will only consider testifying after law enforcement conducts an investigation. The FBI revealed last week that it would not be probing the claims, a sign that there’s no credible evidence to support any investigation.
This is how far liberals are going to attack Trump and stop Kavanaugh’s nomination. And now, Hirono appears to have revealed that Democrats apparently plan to prevent Trump and the GOP from filing the seat for at least two years.
