WOW: After Getting Hit With THREE Ethics Complaints, AOC Was Removed From Top Board

After getting slapped with three ethics complaints earlier this month, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, have been removed from the board of the far-left group Justice Democrats.

According to The Daily Caller, their removal was officially noted in a corporate filing to the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs.

“The New York Democrat and her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, who served as her campaign chair, joined the board of Justice Democrats in December 2017, according to the political action committee’s website. It also said the two held ‘legal control over the entity’ at the same time it was playing a key role in supporting Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign prior to her shock victory over incumbent Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley in June 2018,” The DC reported.

Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti being quietly removed from the group came after the lawmaker was hit with several ethics complaints.

The first complaint involves allegations that she illegally funneled money to her boyfriend, Riley Roberts, who is apparently working for her campaign.

The second complaint alleges Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti may have intentionally concealed information about their control over Justice Democrats.

A third ethics complaint accuses Ocasio-Cortez of using government resources for campaign purposes.

It appears that Ocasio-Cortez’s U.S. House of Representatives Instagram account is linked to her official campaign account, which features a video of her on the House floor and a place for supporters to donate money to her re-election fund.

It has also been reported that Chakrabarti allegedly funneled over $1 million in political contributions to his private business.

Former FEC commissioner Hans von Spakovsky recently said that if Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff intentionally tried to hide the information, they could go to jail.

“If the facts as alleged are true, and a candidate had control over a PAC that was working to get that candidate elected, then that candidate is potentially in very big trouble and may have engaged in multiple violations of federal campaign finance law, including receiving excessive contributions.”

Brad Smith, another former FEC commissioner, echoed a similar message.

“At minimum, there’s a lot of smoke there, and if there are really only three board members and she and [Chakrabarti] are two of them, sure looks like you can see the blaze. I don’t really see any way out of it. The admission makes it open and shut if someone wants to file a complaint with the FEC. I don’t see how the FEC could not investigate that. We’ve even got their own statement on their website that they control the organization. I don’t see how you could avoid an investigation on that.”

Quite amazing to see Ocasio-Cortez has been slapped with three ethics complaints over actions that very well could be illegal.

That’s the exact definition of the corruption in Washington that many Americans want drained from the swamp.
