WOAH: Members Of the View SLAM Warren For Refusing to Hold A Town Hall Event With Fox News

On Wednesday, members of “The View” slammed Elizabeth Warren for refusing to hold a town hall event with Fox News.

“I think that it’s being very dismissive of so many Americans for her not to go on Fox News,” co-host Sunny Hostin said on the show. “I think there are a lot of real journalists there like Chris Wallace, like Shep Smith. I think if you want to be president of the United States for everyone, then you need to speak to everyone.”

“Fox News was the top basic cable network in April,” Hostin continued. “It finished in 2018 as the most watched basic cable network for the third consecutive year both primetime and total day viewers.”

Whoopi Goldberg also chimed in and noted that if a candidate can’t face Fox News, then they shouldn’t be running for President of the United States.

“People come to [‘The View’] because they know folks are watching, whether it’s on the left or the right, or center,” Goldberg stated. “You know what, if you can’t face a Fox audience, you can’t face the U.S. — it’s that simple.”

On Tuesday, Warren announced that she would not be holding a town hall event with Fox News because the network “balances a mix of bigotry, racism, and outright lies.”

The radical Senator took to Twitter to explain her decision, stating that Fox News is “a hate-for-profit racket that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists”:

I love town halls. I’ve done more than 70 since January, and I’m glad to have a television audience be a part of them. Fox News has invited me to do a town hall, but I’m turning them down—here’s why…

Fox News is a hate-for-profit racket that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists—it’s designed to turn us against each other, risking life and death consequences, to provide cover for the corruption that’s rotting our government and hollowing out our middle class.

Hate-for-profit works only if there’s profit, so Fox News balances a mix of bigotry, racism, and outright lies with enough legit journalism to make the claim to advertisers that it’s a reputable news outlet. It’s all about dragging in ad money—big ad money.

Warren tried to make the claim that Fox News is “struggling” but failed to mention that Fox News has the highest ratings out of any other cable news network. The town hall events that Fox News has held for other Democratic candidates in the past have been major successes, considering they have beaten the ratings of other events held by other outlets.

But Fox News is struggling as more and more advertisers pull out of their hate-filled space. A Democratic town hall gives the Fox News sales team a way to tell potential sponsors it’s safe to buy ads on Fox—no harm to their brand or reputation (spoiler: It’s not).

Here’s one place we can fight back: I won’t ask millions of Democratic primary voters to tune into an outlet that profits from racism and hate in order to see our candidates—especially when Fox will make even more money adding our valuable audience to their ratings numbers.

The View is right. If Warren can’t go on Fox News, then she shouldn’t even be running for President.
