Anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok revealed on Thursday that he was given his top security clearance to prepare for his testimony, raising serious questions about previous comments made by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Someone is lying, as Strzok claims one thing, a Sessions claims something entirely different. With America’s national security on the line, this is very serious.
According to The Daily Caller, Strzok revealed during his hearing that the bureau restored his top security clearance “before” so he could “prepare” for his testimony.
The agent who allowed Hillary Clinton to skirt charges for using a private email server to send and receive classified information, and then launched a criminal witch hunt into President Donald Trump was allowed access to the nation’s top secrets — something unnerving to many Americans.
“You currently have what classification?” Strzok was asked by Georgia Republican Rep. Doug Collins during the hearing.
“I have a top-secret clearance with some SCI compartments,” Strzok replied. “SCI” is an acronym for highly classified information that is labeled as Sensitive Compartmented Information.
However, Sessions stated during a June 21 radio interview that Strzok had lost his top security clearance.
“Mr. Strzok, as I understand, has lost his security clearance,” Sessions said.
This admission is very interesting for a number of reasons. It’s important because someone is lying, but also because of Strzok’s numerous scandals and the power he had at the FBI before he was exposed.
Strzok served as the No. 2 counterintelligence analyst at the FBI before being demoted last year and fired from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team after an internal probe found that he had sent hundreds of anti-Trump text messages to Page, a former lawyer at the FBI lawyer with whom he was having an affair. Page resigned from her position in May and Strzok has been demoted.
The text messages are central to the Congressional investigation into whether Strzok, Page, and others at the FBI exerted bias in giving Hillary Clinton a pass for sending and receiving classified information on her email server while pursuing unproven Trump-Russia collusion theories.
Strzok and Page had an extreme bias and extreme hatred for Trump. In the text messages between Strzok and Page, the former No. 2 at the bureau spoke about an “insurance policy” in the case that Trump won the election and mentioned a “secret society” to unseat a duly elected president.
Strzok also told Page that he and others at the bureau that he would never let Trump be president.
Imagine what Strzok and Page might have discussed that he may not have handed over to the DOJ and FBI for review.
In what world would it ever be acceptable to let Strzok view top-secret information? He should never be allowed to view highly classified information before this testimony, let alone still work for the FBI.
Someone is lying about Strzok having a top security clearance, how long he has had it since it was stripped away, and when the bureau will take it back from him.
