In another disturbing move, the Justice Department’s Office Of Special Counsel has called for the firing of Kellyanne Conway for violations of the Hatch Act.
As one of President Trump’s most trusted advisers, Conway has been one of the fixtures of the administration despite the high turnover rate and despite her jealous husband’s constant antagonism of her boss, she continues to loyally serve in her capacity.
Conway’s ability to venture into the snakepit of the Trump-hating media and put the talking heads in their places has earned her the hatred of the left which has subjected her to vicious attacks and bogus accusations for years.
Now the OSC – no relation to Robert Mueller’s office – has used an Orwellian interpretation of the FDR-era law which prohibits executive branch officials from engaging in “pernicious political activity” to demand that the “repeat offender” Conway be ousted over comments critical of several 2020 Democrats.

The independent federal agency that oversees compliance with the Hatch Act has recommended that President Donald Trump’s top aide Kellyanne Conway be removed from her job after she repeatedly used her office for political purposes.
The U.S. Office of Special Counsel sent a report to Trump on Thursday that said Conway violated the law numerous times by criticizing Democratic presidential candidates while speaking in her official capacity during television interviews and on social media.
It is yet another example of how the Justice Department was allowed to become toxically politicized during the Obama regime because the letter itself is a political attack on the Trump administration as well as a flagrant attempt to interfere in the 2020 election.
The White House – which has been under siege by deeply embedded Obama loyalists at DOJ – wasted no time in striking back; decrying the letter as an attack on Conway’s right to free speech and accusing the OSC of weaponizing the Hatch Act.

The White House swiftly rejected an oversight office’s call for Kellyanne Conway to be fired for violating the Hatch Act, saying the U.S. Office of Special Counsel violated her right to free speech.
The independent oversight office, which is led by Trump-nominated Henry Kerner, blasted Conway’s “persistent, notorious, and deliberate Hatch Act violations” in a report Thursday, citing instances where Conway commented on political campaigns, which the law prohibits certain officials from doing.
White House spokesman Steven Groves said in a statement that the office’s “unprecedented actions against Kellyanne Conway are deeply flawed and violate her constitutional rights to free speech and due process.”
“Others, of all political views, have objected to the OSC’s unclear and unevenly applied rules which have a chilling effect on free speech for all federal employees,” Groves said. “Its decisions seem to be influenced by media pressure and liberal organizations — and perhaps OSC should be mindful of its own mandate to act in a fair, impartial, non-political manner, and not misinterpret or weaponize the Hatch Act.”
The White House is correct in that this is nothing less than an assault on the First Amendment rights of Conway and to a larger extent, anybody who supports Trump.
Some would likely suspect that the OSC letter coming on the heels of George Conway’s op-ed calling for the impeachment of Trump are a part of yet another orchestrated campaign against the administration and the rapidity in which Rep. Elijah Cummings announced an inquisition into Conway would seem to validate any such suspicions.

According to The Hill:
The House Oversight and Reform Committee will hold a hearing later this month with the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) after the government agency recommended White House counselor Kellyanne Conway be fired for repeated violations of the Hatch Act.
Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the committee’s chairman, said in a statement on Thursday that President Trump should “immediately” fire Conway based on the OSC’s findings.
The hearing will take place on June 26, Cummings said, and Conway will be invited “to answer for her violations.”
“Allowing Ms. Conway to continue her position of trust at the White House would demonstrate that the President is not interested in following the law—or requiring his closest aides to do so,” Cummings said.
Once again, corrupt Democrats are working hand-in-hand with federal agencies to delegitimize the winner of the 2016 election and hobble him before 2020 and the complicit media is in on the game.
Shameful but this is consistent with the embrace of methods that could be politely described as neo-Stalinists by Democrats, God help America if they ever regain total power over the government.
