ABC’s “The View” co-host Sonny Hostin badgered CNN analyst Van Jones on Thursday after he called for civility with supporters of President Donald Trump.
During a segment on the White House “banning” CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins from covering a White House event, the panel pushed Jones to attack the president and anyone who supports Trump.
As noted by Newsbusters, Jones advocated for the Michelle Obama-esque “When they go low, we go high” approach, but Hostin badgered him for it and said anything less than hostility toward Trump voters was being “complicit.”
When Jones was asked by co-host Joy Behar about Democrats like Rep. Maxine Waters urging people to harass and confront Trump administration officials in public, the CNN analyst called for more civility from the Left:
I see Donald Trump as putting out a negative vibration that a lot of us are starting to pick up on, and we’re starting to become what we’re fighting. He is A.D.D. Now we’re A.D.D. We don’t know what’s going on, and he doesn’t know what’s going on. He is mean to everybody, and we’re starting to get mean. We should be registering voters who we can win the next election.
Jones went on to say that Democrats need to do “work” if they want to defeat Trump in 2020, saying mob-like tactics of confronting administration officials won’t sit well with many voters.
Hostin took issue with this idea of promoting peaceful solutions, and began badgering Jones.
“Aren’t you complicit? Aren’t people complicit when they are looking the other way at the bigotry, at the misogyny, at the messages coming out of this White House? Perhaps maybe they got a little tax refund so that tells me because you got a tax refund, you don’t care about what’s happening to my community, my children, to the country. That makes you complicit in my mind!”
Hostin badgering Jones for urging people to be more civil comes a week after “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg displayed insane intolerance after she attacked Fox News anchor Judge Jeanine Pirro when she appeared on the show as a guest.
Last Thursday, Goldberg abruptly ended a segment after Pirro said she had Trump Derangement Syndrome. Pirro revealed that Goldberg spit on her, shouted obscenities, and screamed at her to “get the f**k out of this building” when the cameras weren’t around back stage after the segment.
Her calls for violence resulted in pro-Trump Florida Republican Attorney General Pam Bondi being spit on and harassed by liberals, a mob of deranged liberals swarmed the home of DHS Secretary Kristjen Nielsen, and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was forced to get a Secret Service unit.
And when Jones tried to encourage more civility on Thursday, the liberal host immediately chastised him and encouraged more people to follow Waters’ advice.
