House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is apparently already starting to worry about President Donald Trump winning a second term in office.
While speaking at the London School of Economics and Political Science on Monday, Pelosi claimed that the United States may not survive if Trump gets elected again in 2020.
Her bizarre claim came after she was asked how Congress would restore “social and political norms” in the U.S. if Democrats win back the presidency and retake control of Congress in the upcoming election.
“Already members have legislation. Congresswoman DeLauro, members of the Ways and Means Committee that are here today have legislation to codify: if you’re running for president, if you’re the nominee of the party, you have to show your tax returns,” Pelosi said.
“If there happens to be a president who will not adhere to the norms. If he appoints judges or an attorney general who says the president is above the law, ‘I don’t think a president can be indicted,’ this or that. Then there’s a real problem,” she added.
“Our country is a great country. We can withstand anything. Maybe not two terms though,” Pelosi joked.
Is this really the new talking point for Democrats ahead of the 2020 election?
Claiming that the United States may not survive if Trump gets elected to a second term in office reveals how Democrats are already starting to panic over their chances of defeating the president.
This is the second time in less than a week that Pelosi has freaked out over something regarding Trump.
Pelosi is furious that Trump called out Rep. Ilhan Omar for her disturbing and controversial comments about the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Pelosi took to Twitter on Sunday and released a statement saying she notified Capitol Police and the Sergeant at Arms to provide more security for Omar and demanded that Trump take down the video he shared of Omar.
Pelosi claimed that Trump “must take down” his video of Omar — which used her exact words on 9/11 — because it’s endangering her life and family.
“[email protected]’s dangerous video must be taken down. I have spoken with the Sergeant-at-Arms to ensure that Capitol Police are conducting a security assessment to safeguard Rep. @Ilhan Omar, her family & her staff. They will continue to monitor & address the threats she faces,” Pelosi wrote in the caption of the tweet.

Pelosi claiming that Omar’s life is in danger came after Trump, Republicans, and many others slammed the Muslim lawmaker last week for her egregious comments about the deadly terror attacks on American soil almost two decades ago.
Omar came under fire for disgustingly referencing the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks — where almost 3,000 innocent Americans were killed, by saying, “some people did something.”
In response, Trump shared a video to his Twitter account that showed Omar making her comments at an event last month for the Council on American–Islamic Relations.
Trump captioned his tweet, “WE WILL NEVER FORGET!”

This has already been a tough week for Pelosi, and her insistent need to attack Trump reveals how much Democrats fear him ahead of 2020.
