Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s niece, Dr. Alveda King, blasted the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates on Thursday as “race baiters” for accusing President Donald Trump of being a racist.
In an interview with “Fox & Friends,” the niece of the late civil rights leader said she believed Trump when he said he aims to improve life for all Americans, regardless of race.
The segment began with King being asked for her response to the “rhetoric” she has heard nowadays from the people attacking the president as a racist, such as Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden and Beto O’Rourke.
King said that the president “is not a racist” and recounted her “experience going head-to-head with genuine racists” while working as a “youth organizer” when her uncle was assassinated.
She argued that a “racist is a person” who fully believes that their race is above others, and that she has never seen that behavior from the president.
King then tore into Biden, O’Rourke, and other 2020 hopefuls for being dishonest about the president denouncing white supremacy.
“A racist is a person who truly does believe that their race, their category of humanity, is superior or different,” King said. “And Beto, Biden, and all of them are saying ‘why doesn’t he renounce or denounce white supremacy?’ which he’s done several times. They’re not even being honest, saying he hasn’t.”
King went on to say that that the “thing” that is “really getting to [her]” is the “race-baiters” who want to cause controversy and “make us think we’re different when we’re all one blood, one human race.”
“President Trump says we all bleed the same, he’s very clear on that, and he has done so much for all Americans, including African-Americans,” continued King.
“President Trump is not a racist, he’s not a white supremacist,” said King. “I’d like to ask anyone who calls him that, have they ever met one?”
Biden accused the president of “fanning the flames of white supremacy” in America “in both clear language and in code” during a speech in Iowa this week.
O’Rourke took it even further and claimed that Trump is “directly to blame” and “responsible” for the two shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, that occurred last Saturday.
Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also utterly embarrassed herself this week and said Trump’s rhetoric on immigration is “directly responsible” for the tragedy.
Of course, it’s more than obvious that these accusations from top Democrats are utterly false.
Trump is not responsible for people carrying out horrendous attacks on innocent people.
The Democrats knows that, but they made the egregious comments anyway to exploit the tragedy for cheap political points.
Many Democrats and liberal media figures have wasted little time in trying to use the tragedies to push their far-left political talking points.
