ABC’s “The View” co-host Meghan McCain ripped co-host Joy Behar on Wednesday for claiming Trump is paving the way for another Hitler and that he’s teaching children to become bullies and racists.
McCain and co-host Abby Huntsman — the two lone conservatives on the panel — argued that the Khashoggi case should not be exploited for partisan politics.
Behar obviously disagreed, and claimed that Trump often defends dictators. After referencing the Armenian Genocide, Behar then said Trump is paving the way for another dictator like Hitler.
“The way that he talks gives cover to all these dictators on human rights. They look at him and they say, we’re going to get.”
“I want to say something about Hitler. Hitler killed 6 million people as we know, 6 million Jews, and one of the reasons he knew he could get away with it is because the world closed their eyes to the Armenian genocide. Trump puts out a vibe that we don’t care.”
McCain then reminded the panel of former President Barack Obama’s dealings with Russia had posed a similar issue, saying there’s no “easy decision” that can be made when a tragic situation occurs in a foreign country.
McCain also hit back on Behar for bizarrely claiming the U.S. could trust Turkey, a nation known to treat its people horribly and deceive others.
Later in the show, Behar launched into another anti-Trump diatribe, this time claiming that the president is training children to become bullies and racists.
After co-host Whoopi Goldberg referenced a new dating app that’s specifically for Trump supporters, McCain and Huntsman said they didn’t like it because it divides people solely based on their politics.
Behar brought adult film star Stormy Daniels into the conversation, saying, “They may not be bad people, but they’re not offended by calling a woman ‘Horseface’.”
After push back from the panel, Huntsman and McCain argued that not all Trump supporters agree with everything the president says, tweets, or does.
Co-host Sonny Hostin replied, “Are you still complicit in voting for him?”
Huntsman fired back: “Are you still complicit in voting for Bill Clinton?”
Behar claimed former President Bill Clinton’s only “issue” was that he tried to convince people his sexual affair in the Oval Office with White House intern Monica Lewinsky wasn’t that bad.
Behar said Trump, on the other hand, is “training kids to disrespect woman, call them names, to be racist, to be bullies.”
McCain quickly jumped in, visibly angered by what Behar was saying.
“I’m sorry, we lived through a Civil War in this country. We have lived through hard times. Listen to me, this is not going to break us, OK? And I’m sick of this. I’m sick of this onus that America is going to be broken and we’re ruined forever because of Trump. That’s not who we are. We survive.”
While Behar’s comments on Wednesday were downright disgusting and unacceptable, it’s par for the course.
This is the same woman who said Republicans wanted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court to “retain white power”; called President Trump a “crackhead”; said “God forbid” Trump lives for another 20 years; claimed that the Iranian regime is more trustworthy than Trump; argued in favor of normalizing socialism; asked why Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wasn’t thrown in jail for blocking former President Barack Obama’s nominee for the Supreme court in 2016; and made a nasty “joke” about First Lady Melania Trump’s marriage.
And now Behar claims Trump is paving the way for another Hitler and that he’s teaching children to become bullies and racists.
