Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) made a bizarre comment about how America is ready for a president who is a female and woman of color.
She was on an episode of ABC’s The View on Tuesday making her talking points, which seemed like more of a way to prop herself up and gauge interest in making a run for the 2020 presidency herself.
Harris spouted off numerous liberal talking points ahead of her likely 2020 presidential run.
.@SenKamalaHarris says Americans are "absolutely" ready for a woman of color president and are looking for understanding and "commonality" in their leaders, "more than first looking to determine if a leader is the gender or race that we prefer." https://t.co/AXLgEkeThz pic.twitter.com/dYmJL3C2f0

“[email protected] says Americans are “absolutely” ready for a woman of color president and are looking for understanding and “commonality” in their leaders, ‘more than first looking to determine if a leader is the gender or race that we prefer,'” The View’s official account wrote.
Harris also had no problem criticizing President Trump, calling his border security ideas a “vanity project.”
ABC News stated:
“Harris also commented on the ongoing partial government shutdown, rejecting the president’s claims that Democrats were to blame for the impasse and calling President Trump’s proposed Mexican border wall “a vanity project.”
“It’s an emergency of his own creation,” she said, noting that hundreds of thousands of federal workers remained furloughed or without pay during the shutdown.”
Some reactions to Harris’ comment about America being ready for a female of color to win the presidency (propping herself up, of course), were clearly against her desire to have people vote on color and gender.
Intelligent people believe that voting in an election should be based on their political views and ideals, not the color of their skin or their gender. That’s called identity politics and it’s not how a successful country is run.
I sometimes think I’m watching a 15 yo girl have a full blown temper tantrum on national tv! I can’t believe she’s still on the view!

It's true. Nikki Haley is the perfect person for the job.

She’s right— Nikki Haley will be a fantastic president!

how about a woman who genuinely has the persistence, the expertise and experience, the passion to serve all Americans rather than possibly on the color of her skin? a tad bit wasteful conversation focusing on race, SAD!

Identify Politics is what Democrats are good that. The rest is awful!

Why must liberals always focus on race and gender? i did not hear you mention one aspect of character or talent that you are hoping for. I guess you, like many ,vote based only on skin color. Very dangerous because not all women are qualified or nice.

Why does race get pulled into politics by Dems but Republicans don’t care what color or sex someone is as long as they hold the values, policies and upholds the constitution!?
— MNItalian (@italian_mn) January 8, 2019
How about a president that upholds the Constitution and protects the citizens first and foremost as his/her job description says, eh? What is this shit of gender and feelings come in to play?

I don’t care if a candidate is black, white, purple, male, female or whatever!!! I vote by character not anything else! If you vote by anything else you’re putting this country on a path of annihilation!

America has always been ready for a female president and many don’t care at all if she’s a woman of color.
After all, many Americans already voted for Barack Obama twice. What difference would it make if we had a woman as president?
We don’t vote on color or gender, but rather we vote for the person who is best suited for the job.
Hiring people based on the color of their skin or their gender can often lead to the lesser qualified person being hired.
The best person should be hired for every job, regardless of their color or gender.
Affirmative action and diversity won’t win someone an election and neither will identity politics.
Americans must vote for the person who has the best vision for America, no matter what their color or gender may be.
Harris appears to be making talking points to prop herself up for a 2020 run, even though it does not appear that she has made a formal decision yet.
