On Wednesday morning, the rat Michael Cohen spewed a new set of lies to Congress, but he accidentally cleared Trump of a MAJOR accusation.
A few months back, the media went wild with speculation that Trump “directed Cohen to lie to Congress”, but Cohen has now denied that in front of Congress under oath.
Here’s what Cohen said during his opening statement:
“Mr. Trump did not directly tell me to lie to Congress. That’s not how he operates. In conversations we had during the campaign, at the same time I was actively negotiating in Russia for him, he would look me in the eye and tell me there’s no business in Russia and then go out and lie to the American people by saying the same thing. In his way, he was telling me to lie,” Cohen said.

Thanks for EXONERATING Trump, Mr. Cohen!
Joel Pollack had the perfect response:
Michael Cohen’s not saying anything new legally. His testimony exonerates Trump from telling him to lie to Congress. There’s nothing new about collusion. And his recollection of things Trump said is unclear by his own admission. The rest is Lanny Davis talking thru Cohen’s mouth.

Oh, Cohen also told Congress that Trump did not collude with Russia:
Important to note what's not said here:
-Cohen says Trump didn't direct him to lie (instead hinted at it)
-Says Trump directed Trump Tower Moscow pursuit, but doesn't say Trump knew about Kremlin contact
-Has said Trump knew hush money was illegal but doesn't detail how he knows

Before Cohen gave his opening statement, Rep. Jim Jordan went absolutely nuclear on the lying rat, calling him a “fraudster, cheat, and convicted felon.”
Jordan began by taking dead aim at committee Chairman Elijah Cummings, D-GA, saying: “Your first big hearing. Your first announced witness, Michael Cohen. I want everyone in this room to think about this…the first announced witness for the 116th Congress is the guy going to prison for lying to Congress.”
“This may be the first time someone convicted of lying to Congress has appeared again so quickly in front of Congress,” Jordan added.
“They just want to use you,” the Ohio Republican said. “You are the patsy today. They want to find someone somewhere to say something so they can remove the president.”
“This is the first time a convicted perjurer has been brought back to be a star witness,” Jodan said. “This is a first because no one else would do it.”

“The Michael Cohen hearing presented by Lanny Davis. That’s right, Lanny Davis choreographed the whole darn the Clinton’s best friend,” Jordan charged.
“Giving Cohen a congressional platform is a disservice to the public, an affront to our democratic values and flat-out offensive to anyone who seeks the truth,” he added.
Davis, Cohen’s attorney, has a long history of ties to the Clintons and working for them through various connections.
“So now Clinton loyalist, Clinton operative Lanny Davis has persuaded the chairman of the oversight committee to give a convicted felon a forum to tell stories and lie about the president of the United States so they can all start their impeachment process. Mr. Chairman, we are better than this. We are better than this,” Jordan said.
