CNN anchor Don Lemon launched into an angry diatribe toward the end of his show on Monday night, where he disgustingly referred to President Donald Trump’s supporters as “people who will lie, steal, cheat, and lie to their mother.”
As noted by Newsbusters, Lemon’s chilling comments came as his show, “CNN Tonight,” was beginning and Chris Cuomo was wrapping up his program.
Lemon’s tirade came in response to Trump firing off a brutal tweet on Friday that questioned the CNN hosts intelligence after he sat down for an interview with NBA superstar LeBron James.
After Cuomo read a quote from Vice President Mike Pence’s “Moral Case for Removing the President,” which he wrote in the 1990s about former President Bill Clinton being removed from office for having an affair with intern Monica Lewsinsky in the White House.
After that, Lemon went on to smear Trump supporters:
“That was then, this is now. We’re up against tribalism. We’re up against people who will lie, steal, and cheat, lie to their mother, lie to themselves about what’s right of this country, about truth and facts.”
“If they will ignore any misgiving, any terrible misdeed, any awful saying they will just ignore it for their own political purpose. They will ignore the bigotry and the pettiness and the childishness about what Donald Trump said about me and LeBron James and others just because they want to gain some sort of political clout or they want a few more dollars in tax money. At what cost?”
Oddly enough, Lemon closed out his disgusting remarks by telling Trump that he shouldn’t speak if he can’t say anything nice. As most would agree, CNN and Lemon should take their own advice before trying to lecture Americans and the president of the United States on kindness.
According to a recent study from the Media Research Center study, 90 percent of cable news coverage of Trump is negative.
Lemon noted the study in his rant, justifying the mainstream media’s endless verbal assault on Trump and his administration because the CNN host believes the president deserves it.
“It always gets me when people say, ‘There’s 90 percent. This study shows that 90 percent of the reports about this president are negative.’ But they don’t talk about the things that come out of his mouth and the policies he proposes. And what he does and says to people.”
“How are we as media to report positively on something that’s negative. If that is indeed true, then you need to counterbalance that and weight it against what comes out of this President’s mouth and what he’s doing.” Clearly, Lemon didn’t do his homework or else he would know exactly how we conduct our studies.”
So, Lemon claimed Trump shouldn’t open his mouth unless he has something nice to say. Then, he justified his own network and other mainstream media outlets covering the president negatively 90 percent of the time because he claims Trump deserves it.
And, to make his point, Lemon disgustingly referred to Trump’s supporters as “people who will lie, steal, cheat, and lie to their mother.”
