Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sat in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s chair on Friday, presiding over the House of Representatives.
Ocasio-Cortez took on Pelosi’s role as part of a routine rotation of House members, meaning other several Democrats will be allowed to do this going forward.
Needless to say, it did not go well at all.
Ocasio-Cortez stuttered, struggled to remember which states members of Congress represented, and could hardly deliver a coherent sentence at times.
“For what purpose does the gentleman from Ohio – um, from Illinois, excuse me, seek recognition?” she said, struggling to introduce Rep. Sean Casten from Illinois.
She also screwed up a second lawmaker’s state of origin, failing spectacularly when trying to get through a very simple task.
“That was my first time presiding. And it’s exciting. It’s certainly a view. I wish we could, I wish we were allowed to take photos,” she told reporters after the session.
This is another reminder of why so many people can’t fathom how Ocasio-Cortez won her election and is a member of Congress.
This is the same lawmaker who continues to push a piece of legislation that experts argue would bankrupt the country.
The measure is so bad that one of the founders of the environmental group Greenpeace annihilated Ocasio-Cortez and warned that her Green New Deal would “end civilization.”
Her Green New Deal is hardly the most embarrassing thing that she has done or said since joining Congress back in January.
Here are just a few examples of the ridiculous things she has said and done in the past month:
–Ocasio-Cortez pushed a ridiculous doomsday scenario and argued that “we will have blood on our hands” if climate change is not addressed immediately.
–The New York lawmaker said Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar has done more for 9/11 families than Republican Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL who lost his eye in combat while serving in the Middle East.
–Ocasio-Cortez got busted using a fake southern accent during a speech to “appeal” to her audience at the National Action Network’s convention.
–Ocasio-Cortez freaked out over studies showing that her socialist Green New Deal would cost around $93 trillion over the next decade.
–She lashed out after America’s largest organized labor group said her Green New Deal could lead to the end of humanity.
–Ocasio-Cortez falsely claimed that Republicans amended the U.S. Constitution to prevent Republican President Franklin Roosevelt from getting re-elected.
These are just a few examples of things she has said in the past month — imagine how many false and inaccurate things she has said since joining Congress in January.
