Fox News host Tucker Carlson hilariously owned CNN’s Jim Acosta on Thursday after his very bad day of being trolled by just about everyone.
During a segment on his show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” he began by discussing how the government shutdown was “entering its fourth contentious week” with talks at “a stalemate.”
He then turned his attention to Acosta, who absolutely humiliated himself on Thursday with might be the biggest self-own ever.
“In fact, this debate is over. We’re not getting a barrier along our southern border. We can’t, not now, not ever. That possibility was permanently destroyed today by a fact-seeking missile of truth launched by one of our country’s premier cable news outlets in a single devastating act of journalism, CNN killed the wall. Took their biggest guns to do it.” Carlson explained.
Carlson then showed one of Acosta’s widely-mocked videos.
The network dispatched its chief White House correspondent/moral philosopher/Renaissance poet Jim Acosta to the U.S.-Mexico border, specifically to the town of McAllen, Texas. Once on the ground in McAllen, Acosta wasted no time in proving once and for all that walls don’t work. Watch the stand-up that changed history.
“Not a single illegal alien was anywhere near that wall. There was no tent city. There were no predatory gang members or coyotes. MS-13? Not there. There was no sad suffering caravan. Everything was just fine or as Jim Acosta so memorably put it, the area around that steel barrier was pretty tranquil,” Carlson added.
Carlson then dropped a savage closer to his monologue:
See, that’s what you get when you build walls, America, tranquility. And that’s the last thing we need more of in this country more peaceful scenes like that. Wait, that couldn’t have been CNN’s point, could it? Now it’s getting confusing. We’ll have to call Jim Acosta once he gets back from latest mission and clear this up. In the meantime, though, we just want to give you some idea how stupid and buffoonish the wall coverage has been recently in case you missed it.
On Thursday afternoon, Acosta traveled to McAllen, Texas, as part of the press pool covering President Donald Trump’s visit to the southern border.
He broadcasted himself standing next to large steel slats along the border between the United States and Mexico.
While complementing the area for being very nice, Acosta claimed there was “no crisis” at the border.
“There are no migrants trying to rush towards this fence,” he said sarcastically.
Without a whiff of self-awareness, Acosta didn’t even consider that the area was so “nice” and safe because there was a giant border barrier protecting the American city.
I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen TX area of the border where Trump will be today. pic.twitter.com/KRoLdszLUu

He tried so hard to criticize Trump that he ended up proving the president’s point: walls work.
Acosta’s video quickly went viral, where Trump actually trolled the CNN reporter on Twitter.

Given Acosta often complains on Twitter about everything Trump does and says, conservatives often troll him by writing “Dear Diary” in response to his tweets.
