President Trump could cure cancer and the mainstream media still wouldn’t show any gratitude.
His latest executive order will literally save over 40,000 lives, but the MSM couldn’t care less.
Here’s the deal, per Forbes:
How many of you noticed the most life-changing story of the week? Yesterday, President Trump made a stunning speech announcing regulatory changes that will save thousands of American lives each year.
As the President noted, roughly 100,000 Americans with kidney disease are awaiting a transplant from a donor. About 20,000 Americans are awaiting transplants of other organs.
These estimates are, if anything, on the low side. Indeed, there are many people who never bother with the transplant waiting list because, under the current system, their prospects of receiving a transplant are so low. Last year, there were about 21,000 kidney transplants in the United States, but the transplant waiting list has remained stuck in the 90,000 to 100,000 person range for some years. If you are old, or even a young person in frail health, you won’t receive a kidney. Donor kidney’s are reserved for more “deserving” recipients. Shockingly, it’s estimated that 43,000 Americans die prematurely each year because they don’t receive a life-saving kidney transplant. For context, this exceeds the number of people who die in car accidents each year.
The shortage of kidneys and other organs is substantially, and probably fully, the fault of inhumane government regulations. The federal government has regulated national organ procurement since the National Organ Transplant Act of 1984. Since then, the waiting lists have increased in length.
A judge said there will not be a citizenship question on the 2020 census.
Trump wants it. He usually gets what he wants.
Now, it looks like he may take executive action.
President Trump is considering an executive order to try to move forward with a citizenship question on the 2020 census, top sources tell Jonathan Swan and me.
-“We didn’t come this far just to throw in the towel,” said a senior administration official with direct knowledge of the conversations.
Administration lawyers are exploring various legal options.
-A senior legal source said: “The administration is considering the appropriateness of an executive order that would address the constitutional need for the citizenship question to be included in the 2020 census.”
-But there is considerable skepticism within the administration that an executive order would succeed.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is one of the proud Americans not in favor of a citizenship question, but it looks like AOC may not have a good chance of being re-elected to Congress in 2020.
Even people in her own district don’t really like her.
From Washington Examiner:
She’s a star on the national political stage, but Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is viewed skeptically back in her Queens and Bronx 14th Congressional District, according to a new door-to-door survey.
It found that she has a low 21% favorability rating, that just 11% believe she has their best interests in mind, and that only 13% would vote to reelect her.
The survey of registered voters was conducted by the political action committee targeting her with a Federal Election Commission complaint, Stop The AOC PAC.
Here are the key findings:
-42% are unfamiliar with AOC.
-51% have an unfavorable view of her.
-33% are ready to vote against her, and only 13% would vote for her.
