An MSNBC anchor argued this week that President Donald Trump should give up his border wall because it could be destroyed by a mythical dragon.
During a segment Monday on MSNBC, host Katy Tur took issue with Trump holding firm on a wall along the southern border between the United States and Mexico.
Tur began by claiming Trump “has to build the wall” or his “base will flounder” and his presidency will essentially be doomed headed into 2020.
To make her ridiculous point, she noted how Trump has been using a Game of Thrones-style meme that says “the wall is coming.”
The meme Trump used pays homage to the HBO show Game of Thrones and its slogan “Winter is Coming.”

Tur didn’t like this.
“The posters’ presence last week, used to amplify the president’s call for a wall, a physical barrier, all but solidifies that the president is not an avid watcher of ‘Game of Thrones,’” Tur said.
Tur then played a clip from Game of Thrones where an ice dragon destroys a border wall.
“The ice dragon, I said that right, the ice dragon, [and] no more wall. So, what’s going to happen next season? I don’t know, I guess you’re going to have to tune into this presidency to find out,” Tur said.
Rather than provide meaningful commentary on border security and combating the influx of illegal immigration, Tur spent part of her show arguing that an imaginary dragon from a fictional television show could destroy Trump’s border wall.
Aside from Tur’s ridiculous anti-wall commentary, Trump has been determined to get at least $5 billion in funding for the wall amid the government shutdown.
Over the weekend, staff for top level Democrats met at the White House with Vice President Mike Pence and others to discuss a bill to reopen the federal government and allocate funding to build the wall.
Last month, House Republicans voted 217-185 to approve a measure that would keep the government open and allocate $5.7 billion for border wall funding.
The bill is now waiting a full vote in the Senate, where lawmakers are hashing it out over funding for border security.
Trump originally wanted $5 billion for border wall funding and Democrats only offered $1.6 billion, which they claimed was a “very generous” offer.
Trump has also threatened to declare a national emergency and have the military build his wall.
In fact, House Armed Service Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Smith, D-WA, stunned many over the weekend and admitted that Trump has the full authority to use the U.S. military to build the border wall.
Trump will deliver a televised speech to the nation from the Oval Office to address the issue directly with the American people and discuss the need for border security.
The speech will be carried live on all networks on Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET.
