The Obama administration had a secret plan in place in case then-candidate Donald Trump lost the 2016 presidential election to Hillary Clinton and didn’t accept to results as being legitimate.
Speaking to the New York Magazine’s Intelligencer, several former top Obama administration officials revealed that they had a plan ready to go if Clinton won and Trump contested the results.
Former Obama senior aide Ben Rhodes — the architect of the atrocious Iran Nuclear Deal — told the outlet that Trump had flirted with the idea of the election being “rigged” in Oct. 2016.
“It wasn’t a hypothetical,” Rhodes claimed. “Trump was already saying it on the campaign trail.”
Here’s what the Intelligencer reported:
“The Obama White House plan, according to interviews with Rhodes and Jen Psaki, Obama’s communications director, called for congressional Republicans, former presidents, and former Cabinet-level officials including Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, to try to forestall a political crisis by validating the election result.”
“In the event that Trump tried to dispute a Clinton victory, they would affirm the result as well as the conclusions reached by the U.S. intelligence community that Russian interference in the election sought to favor Trump, and not Clinton.”
The Obama administration’s plan was to carry out an all-out media blitzkrieg to denounce Trump and pressure him to accept the results if he lost.
Psaki told the outlet that former President Barack Obama worried that Trump supporters would “riot” and “take to the streets” if Clinton had won the election.
While Obama’s former cronies arrogantly claimed they feared Trump wouldn’t accept the results of the 2016 election, it’s quite remarkable to see that they should have actually focused their efforts on Clinton.
Since losing the presidential election almost two years ago, Clinton has yet to accept the fact that she was handily defeated and still blames everyone and everything else for her embarrassing defeat.
On Tuesday, Clinton told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that Democrats should no longer engage in any peaceful or civil dialogue with Republicans.
“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” Clinton declared, arguing that Democrats can go back to being civil if they win the House of Representatives in November’s midterms.
When she’s not suffering from a chronic coughing fit, Clinton has peddled just about every excuse in the book and had made several controversial comments.
Last month, Clinton ignited a firestorm online when she wore a “muumuu” to claim the Russians stole the election from her.
Prior to that, she insulted Americans as being incompetent for voting for Trump, and said anyone who doesn’t believe the president’s policies are hurting America isn’t “walking around with their eyes open.”
In March, she speculated that Americans only voted for Trump because they “didn’t like black people getting rights.” Before that, she blamed fired FBI Director James Comey, sexism, xenophobia, Russians, her emails, the weather, and just about a million other things for her defeat.
Yet, Obama’s team thought Trump wouldn’t accept the outcome of a Democratic election.
