Paul Ryan Attacks Trump With Brutal Comments; Trump Responds With Fire And Fury

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan attacked President Donald Trump with brutal comments, and the president responded with absolute fire and fury.

In a new book from Politico Magazine’s Tim Alberta, titled, “American Carnage: On the Front Lines of the Republican Civil War and the Rise of President Trump,” Ryan made a slew of sickening comments about Trump.

As The Washington Post reported:

In the book, Alberta writes that Ryan “Now out of office and trading in his power suits for a blue vest” is once again criticizing the president and “saw retirement as the ‘escape hatch,’” according to an excerpt obtained by the Washington Post.

“We’ve gotten so numbed by it all,” Ryan said. “Not in government, but where we live our lives, we have a responsibility to try and rebuild. Don’t call a woman a ‘horse face.’ Don’t cheat on your wife. Don’t cheat on anything. Be a good person. Set a good example.”

In response, Trump absolutely tore into Ryan for years of failure and inaction.

“Paul Ryan, the failed V.P. candidate & former Speaker of the House, whose record of achievement was atrocious (except during my first two years as President), ultimately became a long running lame duck failure, leaving his Party in the lurch both as a fundraiser & leader,” Trump began.

He added: “When Mitt chose Paul I told people that’s the end of that Presidential run. He quit Congress because he didn’t know how to Win. They gave me standing O’s in the Great State of Wisconsin, & booed him off the stage. He promised me the Wall, & failed (happening anyway!)”

In his third tweet, Trump wrote: “He had the Majority & blew it away with his poor leadership and bad timing. Never knew how to go after the Dems like they go after us. Couldn’t get him out of Congress fast enough!”

Since leaving office last November, Ryan has taken several digs at Trump.

NATIONWIDE POLL: Was Obama The Worst President In History?

While speaking in Vero Beach, Florida, in March, Ryan said Trump could lose the 2020 presidential election because of his “personality.”

“The person who defines that race is going to win the race. If this is about Donald Trump and his personality, he isn’t going to win it,” Ryan said.

Before that, Ryan came out of nowhere to blast conservatives, saying they practice “tribalism” and blindly follow Trump.

Ryan responded by saying: “Sometimes, yeah. Not always but sometimes. I worry about tribal identity politics becoming the new norm of how politics is waged. As conservatives, we always thought this was sort of a left-wing Alinsky thing. Unfortunately the right practices identity politics as well. I think we as leaders we got to figure out how do we make inclusive aspirational politics strategically valuable again.”
