Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is rapidly backing away from attempting to work with Republicans on border wall funding following an intense social media backlash by the far-left mob that has banned moderation from the Democratic party.
Several users on Twitter called Schumer a “coward.”
The normally intensely partisan senator incurred the wrath of the ascendant socialist radicals over his statement that Democrats were reluctant to allocate more than $1.6 billion in funding for border security including a wall.
The amount was far short of the $5 billion that Republicans were asking for, but suggesting that there may be some flexibility once the bickering takes place in private.
Sen. Chuck Schumer tells reporters at his on-cam presser that Democrats’ position is $1.6 billion for wall funding – far less than the $5 billion Trump wants – but he won’t say if Democrats are shutting the door on anything more, saying he’s not going to negotiate in public.

But as soon as those words came out of Schumer’s mouth, the hate mob that has found immense power in using Twitter for organized cyber bullying, shaming and harassment showed the top Democrat who now rules the roost on the political left.
This is malpractice, politically and substantively. https://t.co/3hAVn789Q6

Schumer quickly flip-flopped and sought to appease the fanatics by blaming any potential shutdown on Trump.
Our position has been clear from the beginning: Ds & Rs have a months-old agreement in the Senate. $1.6B for border security, NOT a concrete wall or increases in detention beds or ICE agents. We should stick to this agreement. If POTUS interferes, he is responsible for a shutdown

It’s probably hard to blame Schumer considering how the activists, social media mobs, and their shock troops have normalized attacks on Republican members of Congress.
This was evident during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, harassment in public and in the scariest incident to date, an ANTIFA attack on the home of Fox’s Tucker Carlson.
It won’t be too much longer until they begin going after Democrats who even dare to suggest working to resolve real problems.
Here’s a sample of the Twitter outrage over Schumer’s lukewarm attempt at bipartisanship.
Man I am so excited to vote Chuck Schumer out of office. How can you see the photos of our government using tear gas and think "hm 5 bill is a lot of a wall, but maybe 1.6 billion" Get the eff outta here with yr stupid wall. https://t.co/HmxVFVz1kF

@SenSchumer if you agree to $1.5 billion for trump's ridiculous wall, we will make sure every dem that agrees will be voted OUT! Not 1 penny! Not 1. NO COMPROMISES.

The correct amount of funding for the wall is $0.00. https://t.co/hBZ9kPoyCX

Join us & allies tomorrow at Noon to tell @SenSchumer not $1 for Trump's Border wall! It is unconscionable to consider giving this administration any additional resources to harm immigrant communities. More info: https://t.co/zBMwJoRro5 #HereToStay pic.twitter.com/LpQpgWG2L7

One wonders whether it’s started to dawn on Dem leaders that they created a Frankenstein monster with their Resistance and now they have completely lost control of it.
