Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined calls on Tuesday for Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham to resign for the most ridiculous reason imaginable.
After the Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. to testify about alleged Russia connections, several conservatives lashed out and argued the Russia probe was over.
Graham encouraged Trump Jr. to plead the fifth and not fuel the fire with Democrats and their desperate attempts to keep the Russia witch hunt alive.
“You just show up and plead the Fifth and it’s over with,” Graham said, noting that his attorney would “have to be an idiot” to allow Congress another bite at him.
Graham added: “This whole thing is nuts. To me, it’s over.”
This led to Ocasio-Cortez calling on Graham to resign.
“The Senate Intel Committee (which is GOP-controlled!) issued a legally binding subpoena, & Sen. @LindseyGrahamSC advised that individual to ignore it,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “If Lindsey Graham wants to work for Trump so badly, he can resign his seat and move his office down a few blocks to do so.”

After outage and a lot of push back, Trump Jr. has agreed to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee — but only under certain conditions.
Trump Jr.’s interview will be limited to 2-4 hours and the questions can only be related to 5-6 topics.
Both Republicans and Democrats also agreed that this will be the last time that the president’s eldest son will be asked to come before the committee in relation to its probe of Russian interference in 2016 campaign.
This is nothing more than a last ditch effort from Democrats to keep the Russia witch hunt alive.
During his press conference from the Department of Justice in April, Attorney General William Barr reiterated countless times that Robert Mueller found no evidence that Trump colluded or obstructed justice.
So that is the bottom line. After nearly two years of investigation, thousands of subpoenas, and hundreds of warrants and witness interviews, the Special Counsel confirmed that the Russian government sponsored efforts to illegally interfere with the 2016 presidential election but did not find that the Trump campaign or other Americans colluded in those schemes.
The attorney general also made it clear that the White House offered “unfettered access,” “no redactions,” and “didn’t exert any executive privilege, which would be within their rights.”
This means that Trump and the White House provided Mueller’s team with essentially all of the records and documents they requested over a two-year span.
The president has been completely vindicated after the Russia witch hunt — but Democrats are still refusing to give up.
And now Ocasio-Cortez and Democrats want Graham to resign because he offered his opinion and said he didn’t see the point of Trump Jr. further complying with the witch hunt.
