An active member of the notorious MS-13 gang was arrested at the border of the United States and Mexico, where he admitted to authorities that he hid within the migrant caravan in hopes to breach the U.S. border.
His name is Jose Villalobos-Jobel and he’s from Honduras, a location where many of the migrants in the caravan have traveled from in hopes to gain access to the United States through legal means and asylum, or through illegal means by rushing the border.
Villalobos-Jobel was arrested on November 24 when authorities witnessed him standing on the U.S. side of the border near the port of entry located in Calexico area of California. He was detained and questioned, and that’s when he revealed his plan.
The Washington Examiner stated, “customs and Border Protection said Villalobos-Jobel admitted to being from Honduras and an active gang member of Mara Salvatrucha 13, or MS-13, a transnational criminal organization. He also said he traveled to the U.S. from his home country with one of the caravan groups, which have said they were coming to the U.S. to apply for asylum at the border.”
Fox News reported on the MS-13 member’s arrest.
It is estimated that approximately 2,000 migrants have passed through Mexico on their way to the United States and have arrived in Mexicali.
It’s also reported that another 6,000 migrants are settled, or not so settled (see rock throwing incident) in Tijuana which is about 100 miles to the west of Calexico.
So far there have been approximately 600 convicted criminals who were among the estimated 10,000 migrants traveling in/with the caravan, which is according to the Department of Homeland Security. However, it should be noted that they were estimating that number based on an unspecified source/s, which means that number is a guesstimate until proven.
Several violent clashes have occurred in which some migrants were throwing rocks at Border Patrol agents. Some threw rocks and items at a helicopter.
Many have attempted to rush across the border from Mexico into the United States, but most of them have been reportedly caught and are to be deported.

Fox News stated on the situation, “As President Trump and Secretary Nielsen warned, over the last few weeks we have identified over 600 known criminals and gang members in the caravan,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement provided to Fox News.
“We are now predictably seeing members of the caravan – which includes criminals – show up at the border and claim asylum. These threats are only going to increase in light of illegitimate judicial injunctions and loopholes created by Congress,” it added.
Opinions on the migrant caravan situation have been blown widely out of proportion with many leftist media outlets making it appear that President Donald Trump’s administration is purposely tear gassing women and children.
The tear gas has only been used on aggressive crowds who attacked border patrol agents with rocks and projectiles.
