In a shocking (not) storm of outrage, the unhinged media spent all of Thursday in hysteria mode over General Mattis retiring and leaving the Trump Administration.
The media narrative happened to ignore real facts. When he officially retires in February, General Mattis will have served the Trump Administration longer than Obama’s last three Secretaries of Defense.
CNN’s narrative has been pure fear mongering, “Shaken, disappointed, saddened and scared — those were just some of the reactions in a bipartisan outpouring of shock and concern as lawmakers reacted Thursday to the news that Defense Secretary James Mattis had resigned over President Donald Trump’s policy decisions.”
The rest of the mainstream media has seized this opportunity to attack President Donald Trump.
Whether or not the departure of General Mattis is a good thing for America, it’s worth noting that Mattis served his country honorably. When General Mattis retires in February, he’ll have outlasted every Obama appointee despite a tumultuous media hell-storm thrown at the Trump Administration for two straight years.
Since 2006, the only Defense Secretary to serve the United States of America was Robert Gates, a Bush appointee who served both the Bush and Obama Administrations.
As of December 21st, 2018, Mattis has served 700 days in the Administration. When he officially steps out in February, he’ll have exceeded Chuck Hagel’s 720 days in the Obama Administration.
Ironically, Gates stepped down from the Obama Admin and immediately slammed Obama’s leadership.
According to the Washington Post:
“In a new memoir, former defense secretary Robert Gates unleashes harsh judgments about President Obama’s leadership and his commitment to the Afghanistan war, writing that by early 2010 he had concluded the president “doesn’t believe in his own strategy, and doesn’t consider the war to be his. For him, it’s all about getting out.”
It’s been a wild week for President Trump, but he’ll come out stronger, as usual.
