Conservative radio host Mark Levin issued a direct response to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., on Tuesday night.
While speaking with Sean Hannity Tuesday night, Levin challenged the young lawmaker to an interview to discuss her radical ideas.
“Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, please come on my Fox show on Sunday. I want to talk to you. I want to talk to you about capitalism versus Marxism and socialism. I want to talk to you about some of your ideas,” Levin said. “I know you go to these slobbering interviews and so forth. I promise to be respectful. Have enough guts and enough intelligence.”
“My theory, Sean Hannity, is this: She is a media creation,” he explained. “That’s all she is. And let some conservatives who will treat her with respect interview her.”
Levin was directly responding to Ocasio-Cortez’s call for a 70 percent top marginal tax rate, which she contends is necessary for America’s wealthiest individuals because they live in “excess.”
In a recent interview, she said, “What kind of a society do we want to live in … do we want to have these folks with helipads in the same city, in the same society as people who are working 80-hour weeks and can’t feed their kids?”

Ocasio-Cortez believes the federal government is well-suited to handle the accumulation of additional revenue, which many critics claim would ultimately devolve into redistribution of wealth.
Levin seemed to take issue with Ocasio-Cortez’s suggestion, citing excessive federal government waste.
“So where is all this money going to go? Seventy percent tax bracket? Who is going to decide who gets what? The Department of Agriculture? The Department of Energy? The EPA? These people waste a $125 billion a year according to the [Government Accountability Office],” he said.
Levin questioned why Americans should trust Ocasio-Cortez or other socialist lawmakers.
“What has Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez created? Any job? Part-time job? How about Bernie Sanders? What have they created?” Levin asked.
“What does she know exactly? Nothing. Go to the supermarket, that’s capitalism. Twenty different types of bread, 30 different types of wine from all over the world, five different types of fish — I can’t even tell what fish. Go to the supermarket. Look at all the different things you get,” Levin said.
He added: “We live better than kings and queens lived a 150 to 200 years ago. Look at all the things around you. That’s created by capitalism — capitalism and freedom, individualism, the American people.”
There has been no response from the Ocasio-Cortez camp to Levin’s challenge.
