LOL: Ocasio-Cortez Has Twitter Meltdown After Finally Being Fact-Checked By The Liberal Media

On Monday, openly Socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (“AOC” for short) had a meltdown on Twitter after finally being held to the fact-checking standards that President Trump is.

Her meltdown began after The Washington Post published a piece called “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s very bad defense of her falsehoods“,  where they called her out for showing a “tendency to exaggerate or misstate basic facts”.

They also criticized her for “minimizing her falsehoods” and having “problematic” defenses to questions about her fuzzy claims.

After this widespread criticism, Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to complain. When WaPo’s Sal Rizzo said “Trump doesn’t think he deserves as many Pinocchios as we give him either”, Ocasio-Cortez got triggered and fired back with this:

“Cheeky, but really not okay to be held to a jokey standard when 45 (Trump) is advancing conspiracy theories”, she tweeted.

She then continued with this:

Above, she is whining and complaining that she has been fact-checked by PolitiFact the same number of times as Sarah Huckabee Sanders, even though Sanders has been in service for 2 years. I guess she doesn’t understand that a lie is a lie, no matter what. And, if she keeps spewing lies like she has sine day 1, she’s going to get called out at some point.

After seeing her meltdown on Twitter, WaPo fact-checker Glenn Kessler jabbed back, suggesting that Trump has had it much harder than her when it comes to fact-checking:

“We have fact checked you twice. We have fact checked 7,645 Trump claims”, Kessler tweeted.

For some context, AOC started this mess because she bizarrely stated over the weekend that she isn’t concerned with being “factually correct” as long as she’s “morally right”.

Who would win a 2020 matchup – Trump or Warren?

Partial transcript below taken from CBS News.

Anderson Cooper: One of the criticisms of you is that— that your math is fuzzy. The Washington Post recently awarded you four Pinocchios—

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: Oh my goodness—

Anderson Cooper: —for misstating some statistics about Pentagon spending?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: If people want to really blow up one figure here or one word there, I would argue that they’re missing the forest for the trees. I think that there’s a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right.

Anderson Cooper: But being factually correct is important—

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: It’s absolutely important. And whenever I make a mistake. I say, “Okay, this was clumsy.” and then I restate what my point was. But it’s— it’s not the same thing as— as the president lying about immigrants. It’s not the same thing, at all.

Anderson Cooper: You don’t talk about President Trump very much.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: No.

Anderson Cooper: Why?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: No. Because I think he’s a symptom of a problem.

Anderson Cooper: What do you mean?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: The president certainly didn’t invent racism. But he’s certainly given a voice to it and expanded it and created a platform for those things.

Anderson Cooper: Do you believe President Trump is a racist?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: Yeah. Yeah. No question.

Anderson Cooper: How can you say that?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: (CHUCKLE) When you look at the words that he uses, which are historic dog whistles of white supremacy. When you look at how he reacted to the Charlottesville incident, where neo-Nazis murdered a woman, versus how he manufactures crises like immigrants seeking legal refuge on our borders, it’s— it’s night and day.
