If hypocrisy is the ultimate sin, Democrats might be in big trouble.
Take failed Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke, for example. At his anti-Trump counter-rally in El Paso, Texas on Monday night, the famously anti-wall Beto stood safely on stage behind barriers.
Isn’t that special?
While railing against border walls at his El Paso, Texas, rally on Monday evening, Rep. Beto O’Rourke stood safely on a stage that walled off supporters behind barriers, fences, and barricades.
O’Rourke railed against border walls at the U.S.-Mexico border while enjoying personal security at his rally. Located at the Chalio Acosta Sports Center in El Paso, O’Rourke’s rally came with baseball field fences — already on the property and not placed there by O’Rourke’s staff — that walled off onlookers and kept the congressman’s stage secure from the back.

Beto had the audacity to tell his crowd that “walls don’t save lives, they end lives.”

The people of Texas nearly elected a man to the Senate who wants to ditch the United States Constitution.
O’ Rourke, who said he won’t but probably will run for president in 2020, thinks America needs to start over with new governing documents.
Beto: “I’m hesitant to answer it because I really feel like it deserves its due, and I don’t want to give you a — actually, just selfishly, I don’t want a sound bite of it reported, but, yeah, I think that’s the question of the moment: Does this still work. Can an empire like ours with military presence in over 170 countries around the globe, with trading relationships . . . and security agreements in every continent, can it still be managed by the same principles that were set down 230-plus years ago?”
When asked how America can go about solving the border crisis, Beto said, “I don’t know.”
Beto has been caught lying about his mother being a “lifelong Republican” and saying he did not flee the scene of a hit and run accident (he actually did).
About O’Rourke’s mother being a “lifelong Republican”:
O'Rourke keeps talking about his "lifelong Republican mom."
His mom voted in Democratic primaries in 15 of the last 17 primary elections, including Democratic party primaries in 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2016 that included presidential primaries.

Beto: “I introduce my mom sometimes, and I kid her a little bit, like ‘my mom’s a lifelong Republican, but we got her to vote for us in this race.’ One day, she came up to me, and she said, ‘You know, that’s just not right: I would describe myself as an independent now, not a Republican. Definitely not a Democrat.’ I don’t know what the size of that universe is, but anecdotally we’re meeting a lot of people who have described themselves that way.”
Even more interesting, though, is Beto’s years-long alliance with a man who compares America to Nazi Germany and law enforcement to terrorists.
