Democrats have said some pretty crazy things over the years, especially since President Trump has been in office.
That’s a given.
Check out Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s (D-TX) take on ICE…
Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) said President Donald Trump needed to stop U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids like in what took place in Mississippi a day earlier because they were like the tactics of the “Gestapo,” which was Nazi the secret police.
She noted, “But I would say for the agricultural business, they’ve been begging for us to find ways for them to have workers in meat plants and other plants around the country. So I am on Homeland Security. I think it’s unfortunate when ICE has to be made into this kind of agency and to be an intimidator rather than an agency that has in the past made sure that we are safe in this nation. That is what Americans want to be safe. But when their neighbors are rounded up in a vile way, when children are left unprotected, I’m disappointed. And the president and Stephen Miller need to stop these Gestapo tactics, and we need to work together to pass comprehensive immigration reform.”
Lee continued, “I’m saddened that we have turned this country upside down. This is wrong. I’d like to find a way to bring her back. But most of all, to thank her. And to stop Stephen Miller, stop him from characterizing this country as a Gestapo and a hater of immigrants. And that is the cause, if you will, of the heinous acts in El Paso that I am still mourning for those in El Paso and in Dayton and elsewhere, but in El Paso in particular, because of the manifesto and the attribution to the actions and words of this administration that might have propelled this individual along with 8chan and other devastating sites to do this horrible and irreparable action.”
A woman who works for the Biden Institute in Delaware said a line from President Trump’s CPAC speech was something Adolf Hitler would say.
The funny thing? Former Vice President Joe Biden said the same exact words just a few years prior.
Check this out…
From Daily Wire:
Trump, according to a short excerpt on Mediaite, talked about “reclaiming our nation’s priceless heritage,” during his CPAC speech. It ordinarily wouldn’t be questioned or even noticed in a speech like Trump’s:
“The men and women here today are on the front lines of protecting America’s interests, defending America’s values, and reclaiming our nation’s priceless heritage. With your help, we are reversing decades of blunders and betrayals. These are serious, serious betrayals to our nation and to everything we stand for. It’s been done by the failed ruling class that enriched foreign countries at our expense. It wasn’t America first, in many cases it was America last. Those days are over, long over.”
But these are not ordinary times. Samantha Vinograd, who is listed as a senior adviser at the Biden Institute at the University of Delaware (named after former Vice President Joe Biden), took to CNN to claim that Trump’s “heritage” line was insulting.
Vinograd, whose father is a survivor of the Holocaust, noted, “His statement makes me sick, on a personal level, preserving your heritage, reclaiming our heritage, that sounds a lot like a certain leader that killed members of my family and about six million other Jews in the 1940s.”
But if “reclaiming our … heritage” is problematic and reminiscent of Hitler, then Vinograd should also be upset with someone else: Joe Biden.
In 2011, while speaking at the Florida Democratic Party Convention, Biden said, “It’s time to fight back. It’s time to reclaim our heritage!” The former vice president made these remarks while stumping for then-President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.
Sam, a Senior Advisor at the Biden Institute, says "'preserving our heritage, reclaiming our heritage,' that sounds a lot like" Hitler.
