Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has called for a meeting at 9am on Wednesday over the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
Since the release of the Mueller report, Pelosi has shut down the idea of impeaching President Trump, however after receiving constant pushback from her colleagues in the House, it appears that Pelosi has changed her approach.
On Monday, Chad Pergram of Fox News reported on Twitter that a top Democrat in the House predicts that Pelosi will back down and allow the impeachment proceedings to begin in the next two weeks because of the growing pressure she is receiving from her colleagues.
“Sr Hse Democrat who asked they not be identified asserted that Pelosi will likely have to switch her position on impeachment “within the next two weeks.” The Democrat argued that “the vast majority of us are for impeachment,” Pergram said on Twitter
“From a senior House Democrat who has their finger on the pulse of the Democratic Caucus. The lawmaker, who asked that they not be identified, tells Fox that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) “isn’t going to be able to hold off on impeachment much longer. It is coming to a head.” he continued.
“Fox is told there was a hearty debate offstage among Hse Dems today about impeachment. Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI), who runs the Democratic Policy and Commuications Committee, an arm of the Democratic leadership, is now calling for impeachment.” Pergram concluded.
This growing call for impeachment has been pushed mostly by far Left Democrats including none other than Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
On Tuesday, the congresswoman called for the impeachment of President Trump, saying that “failure to impeach now is neglect of due process.”
“It is just as politicized a maneuver to not impeach in the face of overwhelming evidence as it is to impeach w/o cause. Congress swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. That includes impeachment. We have a duty to preserve our institutions + uphold the rule of law.” the Socialist said in a tweet.
“Just as what happens in the House doesn’t control Senate, what happens in the Senate shouldn’t control the House. DoJ outlined ev of 10 criminal instances. Pres is now obstructing legally binding subpoenas. We need to do our job & vote on impeachment. What Sen does is on them.” she continued.
“Remember, Clinton was also impeached – that failed in Sen too. Our institutions didn’t suffer then, but they have been damaged greatly today w unwillingness to impeach. Whether it’s Dem fear or GOP recklessness, doesn’t matter. Failure to impeach now is neglect of due process.” the far-Left congresswoman concluded.
Check out what Politico reported in relation to the growing push from House Democrats to start impeachment proceedings:
Reps. David Cicilline (D-R.I.), Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), and Joe Neguse (D-Colo.) — all members of the Democratic leadership — pushed to begin impeachment proceedings during a leadership meeting in Pelosi’s office, said the sources. Pelosi and Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) — one of her key allies and a member of leadership herself — rejected their calls, saying Democrats’ message is being drowned out by the fight over possibly impeaching Trump.
And in a Democratic Steering and Policy Committee meeting, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) stood up and demanded Trump’s impeachment. Pelosi then countered, “This is not about politics, it’s about what’s best for the American people,” said a member who attended the meeting.
Best for the American people? The American people elected Donald J. Trump. Impeaching the President is best for the Democratic Party, NOT the American people!
