The freshman Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib started her new job with controversy after stating that she wanted to impeach President Donald Trump and called him a “motherf*cker!”
She instantly went viral with the short video clip that people posted and shared all over social media, but now she’s facing backlash.
Over 105,000 people have signed a petition on the White House website requesting for Tlaib to be removed from her position as a member of Congress on account of her behavior.
The petition, which is located on the official White House website, says the following:
WE THE PEOPLE ASK THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO CALL ON CONGRESS TO ACT ON AN ISSUE:
The removal of Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) from office, do to inappropriate and unstable actions becoming of a congresswoman.
Created by R.L. on January 04, 2019″
Do to Rashida Tlaib actions and profanity, she is unfit to be a congresswoman. Her rude display and lack of respect for our sitting President was uncalled for. Her immediate removal from her seat is just and warranted. Do to her hatred towards our president, I feel she is a national security threat.
At the time of this article, the petition had 106,987 digital signatures.
Since the petition has over 100,000 signatures, the page states that the White House must provide a response. On the right side of the petition page, it says that it “Needs 0 signatures by February 3, 2019 to get a response from the White House.”
Judging by that particular text, it appears as though the creator of the petition will either receive a response or the response will be posted on the page itself.
In order to sign, people must provide their email address, upon which they’ll likely receive updates about the petition. That might be the way the White House communicates their response as well.
Below is the video of Tlaib using profanity and shouting about impeaching Trump.
Her first impression was not very impressive and it caused people to dig up her past and point out that she appeared to be previously arrested.
