The Coolidge Reagan Foundation filed a Federal Election Complaint on Thursday against Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, the Democratic National Committee, their law firm Perkins Coie, and dossier author Christopher Steele.
According to Breitbart, the non-profit group alleges in its 22-page lawsuit that the Clinton campaign and its group of allies funneled millions of dollars through Perkins Coie to Fusion GPS in an attempt to harm President Donald Trump.
The suit claims the “violation” became a major scandal that triggered a federal investigation, and lives have been ruined because of it.
Here’s part of what the lawsuit states:
“For over a year, Democratic officials have accused the Trump Administration of collaborating with foreign interlopers to influence the outcome of the 2016 Presidential election. In reality, it was the Clinton-backed Democratic machine that conspired with foreigners in violation of both federal campaign finance law and basic decency to manipulate the election.”
“The Clinton campaign weaponized American intelligence and law enforcement communities — led by Democratic appointees of President Barack Obama —through false, malicious, wholly manufactured lies about the Republican nominee, now President, Donald J. Trump.”
From late 2015 to early 2016, Fusion GPS hired Steele to compile the dossier. As the 2016 presidential election was ramping up, Clinton and the DNC paid Fusion GPS roughly $9 million to fund Steele’s anti-Trump operation.
The FBI and the Department of Justice used the Clinton-DNC funded dossier to launch the Russia investigation against Trump in mid-2016. This also paved the way for the appointment of Robert Mueller as the special counsel.
The FEC complaint from the non-profit argues that Clinton’s campaign, DNC, Steele, and Perkins Coie conspired together to fund an operation to take down Trump from becoming the president of the United States.
The group says the Clinton cabal then fed the dossier to her contacts at the DOJ and FBI, who then used it as the basis to launch the Russia investigation. This also paved the way for Mueller’s appointment, who has been leading his investigation into alleged Trump-Russia collusion for more than a year.
After nearly a year of investigating, Mueller has not produced a shred of evidence against Trump regarding any illegal actions with Russia. Now, the non-profit argues that this clandestine operation, led by Clinton and her allies, triggered one of the largest investigations ever against a sitting president.
It’s unclear what happens next following this explosive lawsuit, but many argue this is the biggest political scandal in modern history.
