Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders got plastered online on Wednesday after he claimed that “abortion is a Constitutional right.”
The Vermont senator took to Twitter on Wednesday to declare that abortion is a “constitutional right,” which appears to be in response to the virtual abortion ban passed in Alabama.
“Abortion is a constitutional right,” Sanders wrote.
Abortion is a constitutional right.

Several Twitter users slammed Sanders for his tweet and logic on the issue.
“Killing unborn babies is a constitutional right?” one user asked Sanders.
“If killing babies is a constitutional right and carrying guns is not, we need to go back to the drawing board,” another user wrote.
Another user wrote: “If so murdering humans should be a constitutional right.”
If so mudering humans should be a constitutional right.

Lila Rose, the founder and leader of the pro-life group Live Action, pointed out Sanders’ hypocrisy by citing slavery.

Sanders claiming that “abortion is a Constitutional right” follows Alabama’s legislature passing a bill that would make performing an abortion a felony at any stage of pregnancy with almost no exceptions.
This is arguably the strongest pro-life bill in the country, and liberals are not happy about it.
As detailed by Fox News, several Democratic presidential candidates freaked out over the anti-abortion bill:
“This is an outrage and it’s nothing short of an attack on women’s basic human rights and civil rights and it’s something that women of America are going to have to fight against with everything they’ve got,” New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand said Wednesday on MSNBC.
Former Vice President Joe Biden tweeted, “Republicans in AL, FL, GA, and OH are ushering in laws that clearly violate Roe v Wade and they should be declared unconstitutional. Roe v Wade is settled law and should not be overturned.”
Campaigning in New Hampshire on Wednesday, California Sen. Kamala Harris said of the Alabama abortion law: “This will not stand.”
In Alabama and other conservative states, anti-abortion politicians and activists emboldened by the addition of conservative justices to the U.S. Supreme Court hope to ignite legal fights and eventually overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, putting an end to the right to abortion.
On Tuesday evening, the Alabama Senate made a very historic decision to ban abortions.
The bill was passed with a vote of 25-6 and was signed by Republican Governor Kay Ivey.
Democrats are saying that this is “political grandstanding” by the Republicans and that it is a waste of taxpayer money.
But this is now the law of the land in Alabama because no matter what Sanders and others argue, there is no Constitutional right to get an abortion.
