AOC Throws Twitter Hissy Fit After Being Mocked Over Her Embarrassing Wells Fargo Questions

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made an absolute fool of herself on Tuesday while questioning Wells Fargo President and CEO Timothy Sloan during a hearing before the House Financial Services Committee.

After she was brutally mocked on Twitter by just about everyone, the New York lawmaker had a total meltdown while trying to defend herself.

During the hearing, she accused Wells Fargo of financing “the caging of children,” asked Sloan about highly unrealistic oil spills scenarios, and asked about investments into climate change.

Soon after the hearing, Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to defend herself.

No matter how hard she tried, it was impossible to clean up her own mess.

During the hearing, Ocasio-Cortez blamed a pipeline that has not been built for an oil spill that never happened.

During a House hearing Tuesday, the New York lawmaker made a complete fool of herself while questioning Wells Fargo President and CEO Timothy Sloan.

Toward the end of her allotted time, Ocasio-Cortez blamed the Keystone XL pipeline for leaking 5,000 barrels of oil South Dakota around 2017.

The Keystone XL pipeline has not been built yet, and it’s clear that Ocasio-Cortez had no idea what she was talking about.

URGENT 2020 POLL: Trump or Bernie?

“Keystone XL, in particular, had one leak that leaked 210,000 gallons across South Dakota,” she began while she questioning Sloan.

“So, hypothetically, if there was a leak from the Dakota Access Pipeline, why shouldn’t Wells Fargo pay for the cleanup of it, since it paid for the construction of the pipeline itself?” Ocasio-Cortez asked.

“We don’t operate the pipeline, we provide financing to the company that’s operating the pipeline,” Sloan said.

There are obviously a number of issues with Ocasio-Cortez’s utterly false comments.

POLL: Should Crooked Hillary Be Tossed In Jail?

For starters, she confused the Keystone XL pipeline with the Keystone pipeline, which has been operating since 2010.

Keystone XL is still under construction and has not yet been completely built, meaning it would be virtually impossible for it to have an oil spill.

Secondly, Ocasio-Cortez falsely argued that Wells Fargo is responsible for any bad behavior that its clients may engage in.

Wells Fargo is one of over a dozen banks that has financed the pipeline. But that doesn’t mean its responsible for any oil spills or leaks that may happen.

That would be like arguing a bank should also pay to replace your car since they financed it for you.

Nevertheless, she only turned her attention to the Dakota Access Pipeline, which Sloan CEO admitted being one of “17 or 19” other banks to finance the project.

Ocasio-Cortez also accused the bank of being “involved in the caging of children.”

“Why was the bank involved in the caging of children and financing the caging of children to begin with?” Ocasio-Cortez asked.

“I don’t know how to answer that question because we weren’t,” Sloan shot back.

There is absolutely no evidence that the Trump administration is “caging children,” but Ocasio-Cortez didn’t let facts get in the way of her liberal agenda.
