Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pushed a ridiculous doomsday scenario on Tuesday and argued that “we will have blood on our hands” if climate change is not addressed immediately.
During a hearing before a House Oversight Committee hearing, Ocasio-Cortez argued that the world will soon end if the U.S. does not take action on climate change.
“Do you think that neglecting to address these threats is — could contribute to an American — the loss of American life?” Ocasio-Cortez asked former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel.
Hagel said, “Yes.”
Ocasio-Cortez followed up by asking, “And do you think that denial or even delaying in that action could cost us American lives?”
“Yes,” Hagel replied.
Ocasio-Cortez responded by asking, “Secretary [John] Kerry do you think that appointing a federal panel that questions 26 years of established climate science be responsible for the loss of American life?”
“It could be,” Kerry said.
Ocasio-Cortez then went full conspiracy theorist: “So I think what we have laid out here is a very clear moral problem and in terms of leadership if we fail to act, or even if we delay in acting, we will have blood on our hands. Um, I don’t know if you’re allowed to agree with that Secretary Kerry or Secretary Hagel, would you agree with that assessment?”
Later in the hearing, Kerry bizarrely claimed that Ocasio-Cortez has provided “more leadership in one day” than President Donald Trump has in his entire life.
“Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has in fact offered more leadership in one day or in one week than President Trump has in his lifetime on this,” Kerry said.

Many will certainly find it mind-boggling and bizarre that Kerry claimed Ocasio-Cortez has provided “more leadership in one day” than Trump has in his entire life.
But more importantly, not even Democrats support her Green New Deal.
The U.S. Senate voted 0-57 to reject the Green New Deal — not a single senator voted “yes” on it.
Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal has also been heavily criticized for how much it will cost taxpayers.
One study found that the price tag for socialist measure would be around $7 trillion.
However, a second study found that the estimated $7 trillion projected cost is painfully low, and that it could actually cost nearly $50 trillion.
A third study found that it would actually cost around $93 trillion over the next decade.
In fact, America’s largest organized labor group absolutely obliterated Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal and said it could lead to the end of humanity.
Prior to that, one of the founders of the environmental group Greenpeace annihilated Ocasio-Cortez and warned that her Green New Deal would “end civilization.”
That’s some great “leadership” from Ocasio-Cortez, according to Kerry’s logic.
And despite what Ocasio-Cortez claims, the world is not about to end.
