Love her or hate her, political commentator Ann Coulter likes to make waves.
Though the spicy spitfire has turned her tongue on President Trump in the past, it appears as though he may have moved back into her good graces, as evidenced by a supportive tweet she sent Saturday.
But what was it that caused her to rush to the defense of the POTUS?
As reported by Newsweek:
Conservative commentator Ann Coulter used Twitter to add her thoughts on the situation Saturday, retweeting a CNN interview with Team USA’s Ali Krieger where the defender spoke about her feelings regarding President Donald Trump and comments made both by the president and her teammate Megan Rapinoe about the team visiting the White House.
“I refuse to respect a man that warrants no respect. I feel that staying silent, you know, at times can side with the oppressor and I didn’t want [Rapinoe] to feel like she was having to kind of process this all alone, because a lot of us do have those similar feelings,” Krieger told CNN on July 4. “I wanted to make sure that as one of her close friends, she didn’t feel that and I feel like we’re able to focus — as women it’s funny, imagine that, we can multitask — on two things at once.”
“I think that — it doesn’t take a lot of mind space to go ahead and tweet something out that is very important,” Kreiger added, referring to a June 29 tweet she made in response to Trump where she said she would not attend if the team were invited to the White House. “And then just refocus. Turn it off and refocus on the job, you know, and what we are doing here is to win.”
So how do you suppose Coulter responded? As is her style, she went straight for the jugular:
We'd rather hear from the team of under-15-year-old boys who beat them. https://t.co/rMoUmnxy0z

Coulter is, of course, speaking of an embarrassing scrimmage match that the US Women’s Team had against a group of young boys, all aged 14 and under, who were able to clobber them 5-2.
CBS Sports wrote about the story back in April 2017:
In preparation for two upcoming friendlies against Russia, the U.S. women’s national team played the FC Dallas U-15 boys academy team on Sunday and fell 5-2, according to FC Dallas’ official website.
This friendly came as the U.S. looked to tune up before taking on Russia on Thursday night in a friendly.
Just last month the U.S. lost the SheBelieves Cup, winning the first game over Germany 1-0 before losing to England (1-0) and France (3-0).
You can see photos of the unfortunate scrimmage in the tweet below:
15 Years men win against us National team? I dont understand

At the time, fans were upset and confused as to why the young prepubescent lads were able to win so definitively. I mean, this is the best women’s team in the world, right?
But contrary to popular belief, men and women are DIFFERENT.
Their bodies are DIFFERENT and their abilities are DIFFERENT, as this scrimmage proved.
Naysayers would probably try convince you that this was a fluke, but this argument can easily be shredded when you come back to why the team would have played against 14-year-olds in the first place, if they were playing the boys to “tune up before taking on Russia.”
So if 14-year olds can beat the best women’s team in the world, then maybe they should identify as women so they can be the best women’s team in the world?
The fact that this is a possibility is the why the Democrats will lose in 2020, whether they recognize it or not.
So thank you, Ann Coulter, for defending the POTUS (at least for now), for calling the US Women’s Team into account, and for always keeping it saucy.
